Your Creative Guide
Preparation is Key:
Begin with a clean canvas. Gently sand your metal piece to ensure a perfectly receptive surface, then rinse and dry thoroughly.
Crafting Your Solution:
Shake the XL Gel well before use.
For the darkest, most intense patina, mix 1 teaspoon of gel per 12 fl. oz (355ml) of heated water (approx. 140°F / 60°C).
Application & Finishing:
Dip, Brush, or Mist: Submerge your piece for full coverage, or use a brush or rag for artistic, localized effects. For a fine mist, strain the solution through a paper towel first.
Set the Patina: Once you've achieved your desired look, neutralize the process by rinsing your creation in a baking soda and water mixture.
Cure & Care: Allow the patina to set fully. To preserve your finish, avoid showering, bathing, or swimming while wearing your jewelry.
